Lorraine (“Lori”) Ocheltree is an employment partner at the international law firm Duane Morris LLP with nearly thirty years of experience. Lori provides advice and counseling to employers of all types and sizes and has extensive experience in the courtroom. She has represented clients in state and federal court and has served as trial counsel in jury and bench trials, resulting in defense verdicts, as well as matters that went to mediation and arbitration. She has also successfully pursued and defended appeals. Lori has defended employers in both state and federal court from a variety of claims including wrongful discharge, race, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, and disability discrimination, as well as racial and sexual harassment, retaliation, ADA-compliance, Labor Code violations, defamation, interference with contract, wage and hour class actions, PAGA claims, and unfair business competition. She has extensive experience in handling claims before the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Labor Commission, the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Lori’s advice and counseling practice focuses on providing current and practical guidance to employers of all types and sizes about all aspects of the employment relationship from COVID-19 compliance to hiring, discipline and discharge. She routinely provides management training on a variety of subjects, regularly prepares employment-related documents such as handbooks, offer letters and employment agreements, and assists with internal investigations and audits. Lori is a regular speaker for a variety of business groups and is a member of the American Bar Association, San Francisco Bar Association, as well as the International Association of Defense Counsel. Ms. Ocheltree earned her B.A. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and her J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
