Dr. Jon Wren has over 30 years of experience in civil and geotechnical engineering. He provides consultation to domestic and international clients on the design, construction, and performance of earth structures, underground structures, and building structures. He has extensive experience with the evaluation of retaining structures, shallow and deep foundations, embankments, levees, natural and manmade slopes, excavations, and pipelines. Dr. Wren has also investigated hundreds of sites and structures following natural disasters, such as earthquakes, floods, and wildfires and has published and presented numerous times on these investigations. Dr. Wren regularly uses remote sensing tools to aid in investigations of the cause of engineering failures and construction claims and to present findings in international arbitrations, federal, and state courts. Dr. Wren graduated with high honors from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He has a Master of Science and Ph.D. (minor in mechanical engineering) in civil engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Wren has been on the part-time faculty in the Department of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics at San Jose State University and is currently an adjunct professor at Stanford University where he teaches a graduate level course on foundation engineering and earth structures. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in eight states in the United States.
