Kathleen Buck (she/her/hers)

Kathleen Buck is the Vice President of Claims for Minnesota Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company (MLM) and its subsidiary, MLM Claims Administrators. She manages a team of experienced claim professionals who specialize in handling complex lawyers' professional liability matters and employment practices liability claims. Over her career, Kathleen worked for multiple international commercial carriers holding senior positions as a claim consultant, claim attorney, coverage counsel, and state affairs analyst. During her earlier tenure at MLM, she served as a claim attorney, director, and supervising claim attorney. Kathleen is a frequent lecturer on topics of legal ethics, insurance coverage, negotiation and collaboration, avoidance of legal malpractice, and enhancing civility in the profession. She is the Immediate Past President of the Professional Liability Defense Federation (PLDF), as well as the recipient of its Distinguished Service Award (2023). She is an active member of the American Bar Association and International Association of Defense Counsel and has served on several nonprofit boards.
